Your photo session will be done at an outdoor location of your choice. Sessions typically last anywhere from 1 hr to 3 hrs (although I try to keep them shorter in cold weather.) In the winter months I try to plan sessions around mild (comfortable) weather, as this is better for everyone and kids tend to be more cooperative if they aren't freezing of course.
LOCATIONS:
In the summer months I recommend places with lots of open space, trees, flowers, etc. Places I use often include Bernheim Forest, Otter Creek Park, and Jefferson Memorial Forest just to name a few. In the winter months a more urban setting works better. Downtown Louisville is a great place to shoot at. There are many old buildings, alleyways, and colorful graffiti on brick walls which works well in photos. I try to stay away from bare trees, and dead brown foliage because they flatten the overall vibrance of the photos.
CLOTHING:
For summer I recommend casual, light, and cool. Khakis or jeans in short or long form is great for guys, along with polos or solid colored T- shirts. Pastels are great for summer. For women, cool summer skirts, sun dresses, sandals, tank tops, and khaki capris all look great. If you like hats- that's great, bring a couple along!
For winter I highly recommend colorful clothing! During the cold, drab, winter months we don't have the advantage of being surrounded by greenery, pretty blooming flowers and bushes. Bright colorful clothing really helps to compensate for this. Blue jeans are still fine, but please stay away from dark gray, brown, black, navy blue, etc. for your shirts. Reds, oranges, greens, and other lighter and brighter colors are great. Colorful hats, toboggans, scarves, and gloves also look great.

***For senior sessions I recommend you bring 2 -3 of your favorite outfits so we can change it up a bit and give you a great variety of shots. You are also encouraged to bring anything that has meaning to you, and that will show your personality. For example- Sports uniforms, basketball, football, etc. (if you play sports.) Ballerina shoes if you are a dancer...you get the idea. Be creative!
